I LOVE SCALES!!!!!!! You will practice the G 2 Octave, D 2 Octave and C 2 Octave Scales. Watch the tutorials below for your instrument so you can learn the fingerings for each scale and what strings to play in. MEMORIZE EACH SCALE and make them part of your practice routine!!!!!!
Watch the videos for your instrument very carefully. You may have to watch a few times.
- Note the string the scale begins on and the string the scale ends on.
- Watch the fingerings carefully so you know what fingerings to begin and end on,
- Watch the finger patterns to know where to place your fingerings and what fingers touch.

Violin: 2 Octave D Major Scale-You will shift to 3rd position on the A string by placing your 1st finger on the 3rd finger tape. Stay in 3rd position for the A string and E string.

Cello: 2 Octave G Major Scale- You will begin on the G string 0-1-3-4 then move to the D string 0-1-3-4 will play Open A, 1st finger, 2nd finger, 4th finger then shift to 4th position and play E-F#-G by playing 1-3-4.

4th Finger extensions. You will extend your 4th finger by moving your thumb and placing your 2nd finger on the 3rd finger tape and placing your 4th finger past the 4th finger tape.

C Major 2 Octave Scale
VIOLIN: Every note in the scale is Natural so be sure to play Low 2nd fingers on the D, A and E strings. You will also shift to 3rd position on the E string. That means you will put your 1st finger on the 3rd finger tape and continue up the scale. On the E string you will play: 0-L1-L2-Shift to 3rd position and play 1-2-3.
